ParticipantI Wonder if “Buck” is short for Buckwheat? ie Grain.
Examples of these Lincoln trains seem to be very hard to find now. Not seen anything for a long time.

ParticipantI’ve just realised that I didn’t show a picture of the Lincoln box lid, so here it is:

ParticipantHi Tom
I see that there are parts of 2 wagon boxes. Is the blue wagon the “Buck Wagon”, or the “Goods Wagon”?
Also, what is the catalogue number on the “Buck Wagon” box please? The “goods wagon” is Cat number 3214.

ParticipantA smaller “starter set” was also produced with just the loco and track. I hadn’t seen evidence of the wagons being sold separately, so the original post here is very interesting. Thanks for posting.

ParticipantYes
I have a fairly complete set incorporating a sort of plastic meccano and a freight train, consisting of an American-style (possibly F7) loco the hopper wagon illustrated in the original post here, and a 4-wheel gondola. All made in Hong Kong. The loco running gear is undoubtedly copied from Big Big, possibly via Red Rocket. The loco in this set has some small bits missing but runs well.
